The Benefits Of uPVC Double Glazed Windows

uPVC joinery complements the look of any home

If you’re searching for a double-glazing quote, you should be aware of the benefits. Houses and buildings with double-glazed windows are designed to block heat from escaping. Double-glazed units give double the insulation as compared to single-glazed units.

Double glazing refers to the use of two panes of glass (separated by an air layer) in a residential window. This adds an extra layer of insulation to your home, reducing heat loss via the windows. Previously, single panes of glass were installed into windows, which proved to be a very efficient heat conductor. According to ongoing research, adding a second pane of glass with a sealed pocket of air (or gas) in the centre dramatically reduces heat loss via windows. Many New Zealand homes still have inefficient single-pane windows since double-glazed windows were not required in new dwellings until 2007.

uPVC

Unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) is a high-strength, low-maintenance plastic building material that is also lightweight. Because of its many advantages, including resilience to chemicals, sunshine, and oxidation from water, it has gained popularity in the home remodelling business as an alternative to painted timber. Because it is low-cost and low-maintenance, it is suitable for double-glazed windows and doors. Downpipes, guttering, and fascia are examples of uPVC roofline products.

Benefits

In double glazing systems, the type of glass used may make a considerable impact. Low-E glass is the most energy-efficient (Low Emissivity). A thin coating of Metal Oxide reflects heat from the glass. For your uPVC windows, this is an optional improvement! If you want to keep your home warm, healthy, and modern, double glazing with a uPVC frame makes sense. If you need to renovate your property, Eco Doors and Windows should be your first choice.
