Second only to the awning window in the list of New Zealand’s favourite window styles, casement windows are commonly seen in homes and buildings across the country.
This simple and streamlined style is hinged at the side and opens outwards like a door. The friction hinges mean that the window will stay open as far as you push it (with a maximum opening of around 70 degrees), making it easy to adjust the amount of airflow.
For safety and security reasons (to ensure that no-one can get in or out), the frames can lock open at 10mm or at 100mm with the optional restrictor stays. This allows ventilation without the risk of a fully open window. They also seal airtight with a quality rubber seal and lock securely thanks to a multi-point locking system. Each casement window has at least two locking points.
